kidso Report post Posted December 13, 2014 Man, that is why I have never really deer hunted before or accidentally tagged a deer. I see the one buck in the shade on the right side of the giant saguaro cactus. Where are some of the others?

DesertBull Report post Posted December 13, 2014 Same with us. Hunted yesterday morning and until noon today. We saw 7 bucks total and a few does. Did see two little bucks fighting. My friend text me an hour or so ago and told me they finally saw a herd of pigs but could not get a shot.

hoghntr Report post Posted December 15, 2014 With 2 pig quota more people taking advantage of the over the counter along with left overs of course... EXPECT LESS PIGS! This way of raising funds will end up hurting our javi hunting
1uglydude Report post Posted December 15, 2014 With 2 pig quota more people taking advantage of the over the counter along with left overs of course... EXPECT LESS PIGS! This way of raising funds will end up hurting our javi hunting First, the increased pressure on metro unit pigs in December is a good thing. Most of these herds never get hunted and just end up causing problems. Second, allowing a double harvest just means that fewer of the draw tags made available go unused. Tag allotments assume a certain percentage of harvest. No more tags are issued that could have been issued under the old one-pig system. Tag allotments are based on biology, and never assumed that up to 50% of the tags for certain units would go unused. One of the primary factors in moving to a two pig quota was the fact that in some units there was severe underharvest of pigs. So, if the new rules increase success, its still within the biological guidelines.

I understand the over counter close to town deal that is pretty easy to figure out.. well except that pigs closest to town were made illegal to hunt. O_O As for general hunts well clearly they will be making more $. Everyone is jumping for joy FOR NOW.

Buy a tag, go hunting, pretty much statewide........Pigs are like Yotes, You will never kill them off. Personally I believe AZGFD went to the draw for money, of course.... Although I have gotten drawn about 80% of the time I still believe we have enough pigs to let anyone with a bow go after them in January! Every year!
elkaholic Report post Posted December 30, 2014 oh come on why did game and fish make archery a draw - at $10 processing fee that was only 100,000 + extra income now that's close to 130,000 and they can regulate the # of tags- then they had so many left overs that they allowed 2 piggys we can't have 10,000 + archers getting to hunt for a whole month without getting some extra $$$ in the budget!
