yotebuster Report post Posted December 10, 2014 I have not ever skinned a Javelina and thought body armor. Very thin skinned in my opionon. +1. Thin skinned, thin shouldered, people like to dramatize and say they have should plates/armor, but they are much lighter in the shoulder then a coyote in my opinion. 22mag is ample, a 17 WSM would be a hammer on them!!
deserthntr Report post Posted December 13, 2014 i dropped a coyote at 325 yds with my 17wsm... he didnt move an inch after i hit him. i still think a 17wsm will be plenty for a pig. especially with how easy it is to get close to them. i only archery hunt them, but if they make it legal, i will have friends and family who hunt pigs with rifles use it.
hoghntr Report post Posted December 13, 2014 It's not the body type that would stop me from using a little bullet~ IT IS THEIR WILL TO LIVE! And know they dont have armor plates but make sure ya dont carry this thinking on to hogs and russians etc... an elks shoulder blade is nothing compared to the natural kevlar 1 of these beasts wears.
