wow what a year

Recommended Posts

Well let me just say these are not monsters but we worked our tails off to make it happen. Thanksgiving day had me at work until 3 and all I could do is count the minutes my buddy was at camp and getting ready for the opener. I get to our camp he has seen some good bucks so he helped me set up in record time with the sun fading fast. It was going to be just him and I on the gun until sunday when my wife could get away from work. So opening day found us way up high where he had seen the bucks the afternoon before. No luck so the next day we where in one of my favorite areas I glass up two bucks and make a move on them when I find them they are on the move I settled in for the shot and miss we check for blood just in case there is nothing. We hunt the rest of the day and turn up nothing. The next morning we go to my favorite areas and glass this guy up so I take it out on the biggest 2×2 wt I have ever shotpost-5984-0-57181700-1418003401_thumb.jpg

then with my wife's night school schedule and buddy work schedule we couldn't really hunt hunt Tuesday-Thursday. So we all get there Thursday night and set out early the next morning we glass up 2 huge bucks and try all day to get a shot but can't so we decided to go in a different wa and the wife shows me up one more year with what was my gunpost-5984-0-40929400-1418004025_thumb.jpg

so we decide to break down camp and drive from home for the last day and good thing we did the last day we end up in the same pocket my wife got her deer in the day before and we spot a buck and watched him bed and sit on him waiting for him to get up for 4 hours and my friend decided to make a move and it all worked outpost-5984-0-45387300-1418004460_thumb.jpg

I call this hunt one for the record books any coues is a trophy in my book and we think got a new hunter with his girlfriend. And a big thanks to mike (hoghntr) for talking me into getting a tripod and selling me the gun that took the last 2 deer I know I would not have seen half the deer I did without that tripod. Thanks for reading and thank god for blessing our camp and teaching us so much this year

Congrats on your success! It's not always the size of the antlers that make them a trophy.

. Yes you are right and my family loves the meat

You guys did a great job on them this year. And you are right, any Coues is a trophy! And the best part is getting out there with family and friends. Congrats!
