shortpants Report post Posted March 26, 2007 The farther north you go the earlier the cycle for deer in regards to when they rut and when they shed their antlers. I've heard of deer on the north side of the canyon dropping as early as Feb. Units 10, 9, 8, 7, etc. start in March and the southern units in April. This is just a rough estimate and doesn't mean you can't find a deer with headgear on the north rim right now.
Coues 'n' Sheep Report post Posted March 26, 2007 Gino you sucker! You shoulda thought about my post a little. Glassing up a 190" horn off of 260 is just ridiculous! That would a 420" typical bull....... In 6a no less. Ding-dong! If there is a spot in 6A to look...... where you took that pick would not be a bad spot.... .... And hey even a blind squirrel finds an accorn every now and again..... Besides you have got to know that there are 400" bulls behind every bush out there in the woods, right?? coueskiller Report post Posted March 27, 2007 Don't you all know all those canyons in 6A are full of elk antlers and big one's at that. heck I think GRONG(formally known as Antlerboy) picks up atleast 1 160" elk shed everytime he goes to that glassing spot on the pull out on 260....... Silly goose! Hey GRONG did you ever go get that other side in that other canyon in 6A??? If not I think I will go get her on Saturday and stop by and drop her off at your house. Goofballs!!!!!
