STOMP442 Report post Posted November 24, 2014 I like the RCBS press a lot but as far as kits go the Lyman served me very well and is probably the best bang for the buck. You not only get the press but you also get a digital scale which is a big upgrade and saves a ton of time. It also comes with a case trimmer primer pocket swagers neck brushes and a chamfer and deburring tool. Not to mention the Lyman reloading manual to get you started. Basically all you need to get to start reloading is your dies and components. I used my Lyman crusher press for a long time and reloaded who knows how many thousands of rounds of ammo before I moved to the rock chucker press.
muledeerarea33? Report post Posted November 24, 2014 Also started with a Lyman kit. The progressive press from that kit is up for sale here actually. I know use two rcbs rock chuckers. The Lyman kit came with the most when I bought it (10 years ago.) the case trimmer I'm also selling because I have a Forster. Love the rest of the kit though. If you need any odds and ends let me know. I have a few spares.

10Turkeys Report post Posted November 24, 2014 Started with a basic RCBS rockchucker press in the early 70's, along came wife, kids, and house, then went the press a 700 Rem ADL in 30-06 and a .357,then went the wife, a RCBS RS 3 kit came along, still have it also have a Redding Boss press, can't say you could go wrong with any of the kits that RCBS, Hornady, Lyman, or Redding have, had a bud buy a Lee kit and he said that he was sorry he did. Has anyone noticed that with the RCBS kits that they are including a Nosler reloading manual? RCBS is owned by ATF same company that owns Speer.
creed_az_88 Report post Posted November 24, 2014 I also disagree with staying away from from lee dies. I actually prefer them over my rcbs dies. I've got a rather limited amount of experience reloading though.
draggingnuts Report post Posted November 25, 2014 Thanks for all the suggestions! I would get the craigslist kit if it wasn't so far away. The money I would be saving would go to gas unless someone is passing threw Waddell and headed to mesa and would be willing to help but if not I will probably just get a kit from cabellas and ship it to my house. Thanks for the help!!
