draggingnuts Report post Posted November 23, 2014 I am wanting to get started reloading. My grandpa gave me his old stuff but the press is rusted stuck and I think I don't have everything. So I told my wife I want a kit for Christmas but have no idea what brand. I would like to get everything in 1 kit so I can start right away. I know powder and bullets and all that won't come with it but when I say kit I'm talking all the equipment, scale, cleaner, press all that stuff. Any help would be awsome!! Any things to stay away from would also help!! Thanks
452b264 Report post Posted November 23, 2014 This is the press I use, if you have more than one caliber to load for this is an excellent choice. http://www.cabelas.com/product/Shooting/Reloading/Reloading-Presses-Press-Kits%7C/pc/104792580/c/104761080/sc/104516280/Hornadyreg-Lock-n-Load174-Classic8482-Reloading-Press/739969.uts?destination=%2Fcatalog%2Fbrowse%2Freloading-presses-press-kits%2F_%2FN-1100195%2FNs-CATEGORY_SEQ_104516280%3FWTz_l%3DUnknown%253Bcat104761080&WTz_l=Unknown%3Bcat104761080%3Bcat104516280
Couzer Report post Posted November 23, 2014 The Rockchucker RCBS kit is really good! I would stay away from LEE, I don't like thier dies.

Rcbs reloading kit 200 http://phoenix.craigslist.org/wvl/for/4762051978.html Yea that's the one I was referring to, I still use that same press. Very very good. Hornady, forester, redding also make great products.

Couzer Report post Posted November 23, 2014 http://www.midwayusa.com/product/937051/rcbs-rock-chucker-supreme-master-single-stage-press-kit?cm_vc=ProductFinding Correction, This is the kit I was referring to with the rock chucker, this is the one I use. I don't have any experience using the explorer, might want to check the specs on it to make sure it can load the larger calibers you need it to load. Check Black Friday deals as well like midway etc

YoteHunter Report post Posted November 23, 2014 That rcbs kit will do a great job. But I disagree with staying away from LEE. They make great stuff for a good price. I started with this kit and would recommend it to anyone. http://www.amazon.com/Lee-Precision-50th-Anniversary-Reloading/dp/B00162RM3E
DesertBull Report post Posted November 23, 2014 You are not going to find a kit that has everything. You will need to buy things that are caliber / cartridge, specific to measure seating depth, head space, etc. Most kits won't have a case trimmer.
draggingnuts Report post Posted November 23, 2014 Ya I figured I will need some odds and ends but if I can get a kit with the majority of stuff it will be a good start
rcdinaz Report post Posted November 23, 2014 They are all pretty good. I think spending money on good die sets for rifle reloading is more important along with setting your loads up correctly. You can get all the info you need off the web. I recommend you also buy Shawn Carlock's DVD on long range reloading. He builds rifles, hunts, and teaches long range shooting, lots of good info. Red Rabbit Report post Posted November 23, 2014 The kit mentioned on craigslist has the Reloader Special-5 press, not the Rockchucker. http://www.cabelas.com/product/Shooting/Reloading/Reloading-Presses-Press-Kits|/pc/104792580/c/104761080/sc/104516280/RCBSreg-Explorer-Reloading-Kit/1581576.uts?destination=%2Fcatalog%2Fbrowse%2Freloading-presses-press-kits%2Frcbs%2F_%2FN-1100195%2B1000004440%2B4294389112%2FNe-4294389112%2FNs-CATEGORY_SEQ_104516280%3FWTz_l%3DSBC%253BMMcat104792580%253Bcat104761080%26WTz_st%3DGuidedNav%26WTz_stype%3DGNU&WTz_l=SBC%3BMMcat104792580%3Bcat104761080%3Bcat104516280 Get the Rockchucker Supreme kit. You should also pick up a case trimmer and a set of calipers.
