mattys281 Report post Posted November 22, 2014 I've killed a few deer in 24b during the late archery hunt. It's very possible to find yourself lost in the crowd, but it's also very possible to hunt for days, see plenty of deer and never lay eyes on another hunter. My favorite ridge requires about a 30 minute drive off the highway, an hour and a half hike and then I have complete solitude. Never even seen another boot print on it, but I can hear the traffic on the highway just down the canyon. You can have any experience you want in there. Get off the beaten path and you'll do just fine.

couesmagnet Report post Posted November 22, 2014 I don't even hunt 24 b but I'm starting to feel sorry for the guys that do with all this talk about it. I've been waiting for someone to say there's no more deer left in the unit. Lol. I'll bet there's a bunch I lions in there though. Looks perfect for them. MULEPACKHUNTER Report post Posted November 22, 2014 Just look at it the supers wilderness is a lot of the unit and if not its hywy 88 which is straight up on both sides. JUST rough. Close to town on the south side. Good weather also puts a lot of us in there too.
AZ_SAWBUCK Report post Posted November 23, 2014 "THERE ARE NO MORE DEER IN 24B" DONT WASTE YOUR TIME. IMHO, ANY UNIT PRODUCE A GOOD TO HUNT DURING WINTER ARCHERY HUNTS. FOR TWO REASONS. IF YOU ARE WILLING TO HUNT AND HIKE YOUR BUTT OFF ON A COLD A** DESERT MORNING AND BOW HUNT YOU WILL FIND DEER, ANYWHERE YOU GO. AND TWO IF YOU DO RUN INTO OTHER HUNTERS IN THESE CONDITIONSTHEY USUALLY HAVE GOOD HUNTING ETHICS AND WILL NOT MESS YOU UP ON PURPOSE. I CANT COUNT THE TIMES I HAVE SAT UNDER A TREE AND WATCHED THE STOCK SHOW FROM A DISTANCE.................. THEN WENT IN FOR THE REBOUND LOL! DONT THINK YOU NEED TO GET MILES BACK IN TO FIND GOOD BUCKS. JUST THINK OUTSIDE THE BOX, HIKE AND BE PATIENT. GOOD LUCK THIS SEASON. JS
MULEPACKHUNTER Report post Posted November 23, 2014 That's well said. Archery is totally different. I think I had rifle on my mind when I was posting. I can't recall honestly that I have ever ran into another hunter during archery Dec or Jan.
