218buck Report post Posted November 19, 2014 Me and my daughter were both fortunate enough to draw elk tags this season even though my wife does not participate with us on the hunts , she fully supports us on our endeavors. So this year she is having Thanksgiving this Sunday so we can all take part in it as a family. I personally think this is awesome that she thinks this much about us that she is willing to change her holiday season for us. I'm truly blessed to have such a great wife that supports what I do and is willing to make sacrifices for me and our family , thanks Christi
rclouse79 Report post Posted November 19, 2014 Would you mind sending me a p.m. with your wife's number so I can have my wife call her? Only kidding, I know my wife puts up with more than most would. I am just looking forward to the day my boy is old enough to start taking him out on hunts.
AZbowhntr Report post Posted November 19, 2014 That is awesome. It took a lot of years for my wife to finally come to grips with what I love to do (just ask Chef, he can attest to it). Although I was kind of extreme when I was younger with everything I did. As long as you make them feel special they will put up with a lot from us.
Mocha1545 Report post Posted November 19, 2014 That is awesome! My wife is the same way. She knows what hunting means to me and will gladly adjust her schedule to meet the needs of the hunt. Unfortunately my Brother's wife is NOT the same! At least we married UP! Congrats to your luck at home and good luck on your hunt!
lancetkenyon Report post Posted November 19, 2014 My family all met this past Saturday for our Thanksgiving get together. My 12 year old daughter and I will be out elk scouting on Turkey Day, and my wife works for Macy's, so she has to go in to work at 5:00PM Thursday as well. My Rights As An American Report post Posted November 19, 2014 The day does not make the family. It is the family that makes the day! I appreciate how much my wife puts up with my hunting. Glad the family, especially the wives and husbands who put up with a lot of away time, is understanding. May this be the best Thanksgiving season ever!
mbiewer Report post Posted November 19, 2014 yeah.... does your wife wanna give lessons, or start a support group.... been arguing for a couple days now with my girlfriend... "so you'll be gone for a week, and it's not even your tag?!!?".... guess it was a bad time to tell her that javelin and spring turkey will be weekend trips.... apparently there's no Brightside. ha ha (* there were five us come elk time, so my buddy got the short straw and put in solo. He, of course, was the lucky one to draw the 22n late, late bull tag. Can't send him up the hill alone!)
