FancyRedneck Report post Posted November 16, 2014 Just like the topic says , I am looking to buy a Youth stock for a howa 1500. Bought one at a gun show this weekend and the stock is a little to long for the wife. Have looked around but cant really find one, I might be looking at the wrong sites. lancetkenyon Report post Posted November 16, 2014 Wood of composite? I have cut down numerous wood stocks and installed a new recoil pad on them to shorten LOP.
FancyRedneck Report post Posted November 17, 2014 It is composite. I am not really comfortable cutting anything down being I have never done it before and dont want to screw things up. With it being her first gun I want it to be durable and take a little bit of a beating. Just was wondering if there were other options out there.

lancetkenyon Report post Posted November 17, 2014 SA or LA? Sporter or varmint barrel? You can also look at Weatherby Vanguard stocks. I think they are the same stock. Check out www.stockysstocks.com http://www.stockysstocks.com/servlet/Categories
hoghntr Report post Posted November 17, 2014 Weatherby vanguard / howa / smith & wesson 1500 models all same stocks. all very accurate rifles way under valued! s & w's had gorgeous wood stocks but super rare to find gun or stock in sa calibers. Watch ebay for youth Howa stock
FancyRedneck Report post Posted November 17, 2014 It is a SA / varmint model I believe . No paperwork came with the gun so I am trying to piece it together myself on the info. Got a screaming deal on it just need a shorter stock. I think I found some but I sent Chad a PM so I am waiting to hear back from him.
