kyle44k Report post Posted November 11, 2014 Working out a deal to hunt a ranch in Mexico the ranch has never been hunted should be some big bucks. If u can get a total of 5 guys the ranch is all ours for all of January. Includes housing. And gun permits for 1500. Only 3 hours from Tucson

218buck Report post Posted November 12, 2014 I have been to several ranches in Mexico that claimed to have never been hunted only to find out they had been hunted a lot that's a good price but don't be surprised if you go down there only to find out that its been hunted before.

Elkaddict Report post Posted November 12, 2014 Sad to say, some of the ranches in Mexico that "haven't been hunted" have been shot out by the Cowboys working the ranch. Not saying that's the case here, but I have seen it on some ranches. The price is definately right for someone that wants to give it a try.
OpticNerd Report post Posted November 12, 2014 Being only 3 hours from Tucson you might want to check with the rancher and see if he's OK with you going down and scouting the ranch before you fork down any cash. All the ranches I've been to allowed us to come down and check out the ranch before purchasing the tags. Plus it's also good to drive down before hand to learn the roads, meet the ranchers/locals and what not if you haven't already. If it's a good ranch that's seem like a good deal.
Havasuhunter Report post Posted November 12, 2014 I'd be very interested if someone pre scouts the ranch or they can show some proof that it hasn't been shot out.
Ernesto C Report post Posted November 12, 2014 In my personal experience, finding a good ranch that has never been hunted close to border is almost impossible, I repeat, "almost". If you find a good ranch then most likely you'll find that: A) The ranch owner is not interested on having hunters in his property or The ranch owner already had a very bad experience with an Outfitter that took advantage or lied to him therefore his not interested on hunting the ranch any more. If you want to find very seldom hunted ranches or one that has never been hunted, then you must drive at least 6 hours from the border. In some cases some ranches are 6 hours away from the airport if you fly in! leave alone driving! In my experience, some hunters are willing to go the extra mile to get their best buck to date, and some give up with out even trying. Some don't like to hunt ranches far away from the border, some want to hunt ranches close to the border but then complain cause they got a 90 inch buck. Some are invited to scout the ranches before committing and they say no and some want to go and hunt for free. But before we make any assumptions here, there are two things we can do...my advice is: talk "Kyle44K" get to know more about him and the ranch and/or see if you can talk to the ranch owner; see if you can scout the ranch. Once we do that we can come up with our own conclusions and find out is the ranch is worth the try or not; or.. like the Nike commercial used to say.. Just do it! and you'll find out if the ranch was good or not. Good luck to all
218buck Report post Posted November 12, 2014 That is excellent advice it seems like the better ranches we have hunted are a longer drive from the border. A good friend of mine has a ranch he leases that is only a few hours from the border ,he got the lease because the guy that had it originally abused his tag privileges, He has become good friends with the owner and has a place to hunt every year were there's quality deer at affordable prices. I do believe you can find deer on any of the ranches but finding a quality ranch might take some time if you don't go with a reputable outfitter good luck and I hope it works out for you. You better get you permits in as soon as possible.
