out2hunt Report post Posted March 22, 2007 15 for my buddy before his first archery bull tag in 05 and he was drawn again this year.I didnt put in with him be cause my points were higher than his by a ways and he got drawn not me.this points crap is for the birds.hasn't seemed to help my cause. Game and Fish must be keepin' a pretty tight lid on things. I'm gettin' pretty darn antsy to find out what hunt that $114 charge is going to put me on. I guess we do have plenty of time left though. I was looking back at 05' draw data, and it's tough to find anybody with over 12 points that applied for archery elk. The people that did were all drawn also, and of course some were non-residents. The unit your trying to draw now may have more max bonus points than they did in 05'. Or the unit may have less permits than in 05'. All this talk about disappearing charges on CC's has me nervous. I can't complain too loudly even if it does disappear, as I drew my dream elk tag last year (7W rifle bull), but my boy and I are 0 for 6 on deer and 0 for 4 on Javies the last few years, so I'll take the blessings on the elk side of things to be sure. Nothing wrong with a late cow hunt in my book, but I'm going to be hoping for a nice couse tag later this year still. Makes one wonder just what is happening. Last year I seem to recall the results were up just 4 or 5 days after the CC hits started. It's been 8 days now since my card was hit. My guess and hope is results will be up by COB tomorrow. Last year I drew an elk tag but the charge to my Amex card appered between 2-3 days after the draw results were posted on the AZGFD web site. I remember this because I was really bummed out to here all the others whos cards were hit and I still had not seen any activity when I would check the CC web site. I could be off but that is the way I remember it. I applied this year on the 25th of Jan and they took the app fees the same day. Actual charges might go up but maybe Amex don't do Pending stuff. This was true for my dad as well. Last year when everyone was saying their card was getting hit, we were bummin' hard because we had nothing on our cards at all. Then the results came out and he had drawn a muzzleloader bull tag and a late season whitetail. So if you have an AmEx or any actual credit card (not debit), don't tie the noose yet.
