BigGameHunter Report post Posted November 13, 2014 Yeah it is all of 5B. Just from what I have read and heard, sounds like there is more opportunity to get an animal in 5BS. N can get really nasty with the weather, and we fought the worst of it a few years back. 6 inches of mud on your boots, too much mud for quads, etc. I'm all about the hard hunts and the miles, but I don't think my dad can hang with that anymore. Hence, why I have been scouting S. He is also not looking for a trophy, just meat in the freezer. I hunted that same hunt a few years ago. It was a GD mess back there - south and north. I will be focusing predominately in the S this year too, for the exact same reason as you - my dad can't handle the physical challenges that the north will present. That being said, after we fill his tag. I will take my tag and shift efforts towards the North and work the canyons relentlessly.
Thefithunter Report post Posted October 22, 2020 Drew the 5B late rifle tag this year and it will be my first elk hunt that I have a tag. I know this thread is a bit old but any info, suggestions, or experience on how you’re guys hunts?
