Is This a Nightmare?

Recommended Posts

The closer it is to the hunt the more things are falling apart! I've been so busy with Work, Church and Family that I never got to get out scouting. Then I threw out my back setting up at Church for a banquet. Called my Dad last night and he told me that he won't be able to make the hunt. Seems he's been getting out breath easily and the doctor set up a stress test for him Wednesday. The doc told him NOT to go hunting. I have worried that this was probably the last time I could get him out there since he's 89 now. I just checked with my brother to let him know about Dad and see if he was still planning on going. He was surprised about our Pops and told me his tranny is acting up! Is this a NIGHTMARE?????

I have been looking forward to this hunt with both them all year and now it looks like a bust! The only good news is that I got muscle relaxers from the doc. He's also a hunter heading down this coming weekend!

Sorry for the whining but had to get it out of my system!

Leave it in God's hands. He will provide. It might not be what you want at the time, but He knows best.

Good luck on all fronts. A speedy recovery to your back, your Dad, and your brothers transmission.

Frustrating as it can be stop and take a breath. My tranny is being rebuilt right now and my son has to work so he wont be there, all a bummer but that is life. We have our health and family, throw in a chance to hunt and we are all golden. Some trips just dont work out the way we want.

I feel your pain. I missed my hunt that I was really looking forward too. 1 of our buddies backed out for family reasons, another had a grandmother die and backed out. I got sick for 2 weeks prior to the hunt and the doctor didn't have a clue what it was so I didn't want to leave town. I am frustrated that I missed it but it is driving me to want to get out more and try new things like predator hunting. I am going to try and get out to do that very soon.

Take a breath. As much as it sucks that you might be flying solo, at least you'll be hunting.

What everyone saying is true. Its easy to get on a website like this or others and see all the good things, like people taking huge animals, etc. But what alot of times you dont see is there personal struggles or how many years its took to get such a animal or even get drawn. I too have to remind myself of this and think I'm lucky to be able to worry about things that really are trivial in the grand scheme of it all. Hang in there and things will work out. Maybe just cruise roads(road hunting but not road hunting ;) ) with your dad(if he can do that) and enjoy time with him. Good Luck
