Non-Typical Solutions Report post Posted October 21, 2014 Went to a birthday party where a family tradition was carried out in fine fashion. And what a joy it was to share my vast knowledge of how to load a BB gun! May Max be able to grow up and enjoy the great outdoors as I have enjoyed them.

trphyhntr Report post Posted October 21, 2014 You're the man. I got mine from my grandpa about that age just before he died of ALS and I still have it. Heard you can shoot them in city limits? I'm about to bust mine out and shoot some cans

Non-Typical Solutions Report post Posted October 21, 2014 That's a keeper of a grandpa. I am just glad Mom and Dad saw fit to get a BB gun to him...........I can remember for so many years all I wanted for Birthdays or Christmas was either a new BB gun or BB's to put in the one that I had......First thing we put up for him to shoot was some of his birthday balloons and he was big eyed when he popped the balloons with his new BB gun. Great times for sure.....

PRDATR Report post Posted October 21, 2014 I guess I'm probably the only kid that ever got one and didn't like it. I was probably 7 or so and I remember shooting it into the fence in the back yard and the BB's just bounced off. I gave it back to my Mom and they took it back to the store. DUG Report post Posted October 21, 2014 I got in more trouble with mine. I had just got my BB gun back from being grounded for 3 months from it when the neighbor accused me of shooting birds. I had shot like 5 shots at a target in the backyard and the guy starts yelling. I thought my Dad was going to get in a fist fight with the guy......What a great tradition for your grandson to have Grandpa show him!

PRDATR....it's ok.......you obviously didn't let it keep you from the great outdoors. My Mom hated that Dad kept me in supply of BB's and BB guns. I just had to make sure I didn't talk about the ventures of the day around my Mom or she would get pretty bent out of shape. I set our bermuda grass lawn on fire one winter day shooting matches out the end against my dad's shed.........that didn't go to well with Dad.....
4Falls Report post Posted October 21, 2014 I loved my bb gun.I used to sit inside our chicken coop and "hunt" sparrows or whatever came in to steal the chicken feed. Also bagged a few lizards and loved jump shooting frogs at Potato Lake. Even took a couple of safaris out to the desert for exotics like quail and cottontails. As a kid I was rarely without my bb gun.
