Leica Rangemaster 1000 R - Anybody using one???

Wife has made a request for Christmas ideas, and I've been toying with the idea of upgrading my range finder. Anybody have any experience with one of these? I know they make some of the best glass, I'm just wondering how the battery life is and how durable they are. THanks.

been looking at one (and all other Rangefinders), one thing that stands out to me is the 1000R only corrects for angle to 600 yds.... I would like one further for target practice, etc...

I bought 1 but have not used it yet.. yes she is leica clear! lightweight and compact but as for the function not sure yet, sorry

I would spend the extra $200 and get the 1600. You'll get that back out of it in resale if you ever sell it.

I thought about it, but quite frankly im a pisspoor rifle shot and cant think of anything a bowhunter needs that for. My nikon 440 is short on distance for stalking, but I think the 1000 will have some extra to it.

 

What do you guys use that 1600 for are you shooting over 1000?

Pulled the trigger on it and bought one of these. Im truly amazed at how clear this thing is. The optics are so good I dont even plan on taking my binos when I treestand hunt any more. I cant wait until this weekend when I get to light up some deer with it!
