rageinthesage Report post Posted November 5, 2014 I can't wait to get to the shop to try one out, I'll give an opinion after I shoot it. It looks sick.
AverageJoe Report post Posted November 5, 2014 Not sure why Mathews keeps trying building a smoother bow. They are already ridiculously smooth, start adding some other benefits. At least the no cam is one step in the right direction as far as innovation is concerned. I love seeing new designs and ideas implemented.

mattys281 Report post Posted November 6, 2014 The nocam looks interestin Yeah, I'd imagine that has to smooth out the draw and make it easier to get straight nock travel out of it. I may have to swing by archery HQ and put my hand on one of those...
mattys281 Report post Posted November 6, 2014 That's the thing, straight and true nock travel but to drop an IBO rating of 30FPS is a tough thing to do from my POV. I still have to shoot this cat once I get a chance to do so. May be just flat out accurate. Target bows seem to be the focus this year. I kind of feel like the speed angle is way over sold. My 2008 model black ice only had an advertised ibo of 318 and it's blown through everything I've ever shot with it like they were paper targets anyway. Just my .02 but I think if its light weight, respectably fast, and it got smoother and more forgiving/accurate, then they are definitely heading in the right direction. outdoor rush Report post Posted November 7, 2014 It is the heaviest bow released so far this year. And after seeing some data on it people are only getting in the mid 200's for speed with a hunting setup. For $1100-$1800 I don't understand it. Mathews laid off 35 people last month maybe they knew something before they released this thing.

mattys281 Report post Posted November 7, 2014 I think the shorter one (this one) is a nice looking bow, but I don't care for the longer version. It's all riser.
WHT_MTNMAN Report post Posted November 7, 2014 The 85% let off mod is IBO at way under 330. Like 310 or something.. It is the 65% that is 330. Not much of a performance bow, but I bet it is smooth.

outdoor rush Report post Posted November 13, 2014 I went and checked this bow out today, and all I can say is harsh! It felt like the draw stacked like a recurve and my shoulder was sore after drawing it back a couple times. It really reminded me of the old school wheelie bows. I have never been a Mathews fan but their draw has always been smooth, this bow is the exception. These are just my opinions though.
rageinthesage Report post Posted November 23, 2014 It may not be the 2015 model, however; I still like shooting my old Mathews McPherson Series MR5 Monster Hunting Bow. Sick bow, I have two, orange smoke and camo.
HuntHarder Report post Posted December 11, 2014 I must admit, I shot the no camo HTR today, and I was kind of impressed. Super smooth draw with a very forgiving valley. Little to no hand shock after the shot. While it does not impress with speed, it is as fast as most of their other bows, and is pretty dang smooth. It will not make me switch over from my Monster Chill, but it impressed me a lot more than I thought it would!
