AZGFD License "Simplification" Bull****

Recommended Posts

Regulations!! The only thing G&F gives away for free. That's why I have two copies and read them front to back.

Yeah that would be nice if the system could at least remember the license number...especially if the license was purchased online in the first place. Manages to remember my address and everything else from last time...

I guess next year folks with Oct deer hunts will be complaining when their license they bought this Fall is expired before their hunt. It is a bit confusing, but I'm going to try to stay on the Jan-Dec cycle myself and hopefully not forget to buy a new one. :D

I like the new system. I bought my license when I put in for my elk tags. Now I don't have to buy a license Until I put in next year. And I am covered for January archery season. No need to rush out after Xmas and buy a tag AND a license.

when you go on the draw section it states that you do not need to buy a license if it is valid through the draw cycle

important to read the regs every year as there are ALWAYS changes in 1 way or another!

from the draw section on their web page...........................'

Valid license required in order to apply for spring draw. The department has been receiving questions from constituents asking if they need to buy "a 2015" hunting license in order to apply for the 2015 spring draw. With the establishment of the new license structure this year, licenses other than short-term licenses are now valid for 365 days rather than just for the calendar year (read about the different options; some allow you to name your own start date up to 60 days from purchase date). Therefore, to apply for a draw you now only need a "valid" hunting license or combination hunt/fish license, as long as that license is valid as of the deadline for that draw. If you already bought your license this year, it most likely will satisfy the license requirement in order to apply for the 2015 spring draw. Check the dates of your current license.

If you haven't yet purchased a license at all this year, you'll need to buy one either online, at a Game and Fish office, at an authorized license dealer, or through the draw process at the time you're applying for the draw. If you are buying your license online, you must have a printer and print out your license at the time of purchase; the department will not mail out licenses purchased online.

Keep in mind, however, that you need to have a valid license when you are in the field for your hunt. If your current license expires before your hunt, you'll need to purchase a new license before you go on your hunt.

it was there when I put in a couple weeks ago and I also called before to make sure a couple months ago.

probably should kick yourself in the pants for being complacent.

I bought a lifetime license a couple of years ago and don't worry about it anymore.

Yup, that would handle all these problems for sure.
