az_shooter Report post Posted October 14, 2014 image.jpg Here is one that was posted several years ago. Jamie (MCElk) called in and shot this badger. As he picked it up he heard a snake buzzing. After searching around he realized it was above him. Some people would leave the area, others would quickly kill the large rattler, Jamie saw it as a photo op. I thought that was a fake photo until I realized that was Jamie in the picture. to heck with that, never seen one in a tree and don't think I need to. Shooter McGavin Report post Posted October 14, 2014 Saw this guy a week week before my boys jr hunt in Redington, needless to say he never saw another sunrise. Even though he wasn't bothering anyone I felt obligated to add another rattle to my collection.

NYAZHunter Report post Posted October 14, 2014 Several years ago , my uncle moved to Az. from Florida where he was a groundskeeper. He renewed his interest in hunting and I took him south for the early hunt. I put him in a wooded location , lots of shade and deer sign. I went back later to get him and he said there was a coral snake in the tree he was standing by. I know he knew what a coral snake looked like from his 35 years in Fla. I still question what kind of snake it was , however , now I look at the trees as much as I look at the ground. It is hard to look for deer when I worry so much about our slithery friends. Edge Report post Posted October 14, 2014 Careful McGavin, looks like maybe a protected variety of buzztail, but I do appreciate the sentiment. lol
jim Report post Posted October 14, 2014 I was walking into a pond down by barnhart opening day of archery deer a few years ago when I walked right into a Mohave who was stretched across the trail in the manzanita about 3 feet off the ground. I figure he was hunting from above as the brush was pretty thick. If he had not buzzed I would have hit him about mid thigh as I was moving pretty quick. Need less to say I found another trail to get into that spot.
