I was just wondering the same thing. Last I heard, g/f was cutting way back on their news conferences on this.

Recent article I read in the ram times said there have been no recent fatalities and there was one ram that has survived from the transplant and he had found his way to the ewes. Game and fish was hoping he bred them.

Those numbers are phenomenal , g+f should be proud.

On Facebook, there is a page "Friends of Catalina Bighorns" and it passes along the conference info once a month. Also tracks sheep movements and shows movement on a map or two. I've heard they are planning another "smaller" drop in the near future. The remaing breeding ram has been verified to be haning out with the ladies and is thought to have been breeding.

I saw 13 of them in August on top of pusch ridge while training for my elk hunt. The ram was with all the ewes. There was at least one, maybe two without collars that were young ones but I don't think they were this year's. I took a break and watched them for a while. It was neat to see.

Of course no one is talking about it, no one reports on the positive.

Or maybe they are just hiding the negative?

Definently possible.
