mulie hunter Report post Posted March 14, 2007 I just couldn't resist to comment about the 100 yard, 3 inch group. All of the nonbelievers won't believe it till they see it, because they can't come anywhere near it and they'll just criticize in the meantime. With that said I DO believe it because I've done it myself, and more than once or twice, and yes AT LEAST 3 arrows constitutes a group. I shoot groups at 70 yards equivalent or better than most people's 30 yard groups! Granted, once I did want to be in the Olympics for archery, but those days have passed and hunting is my passion now. If you don't believe it oh well, keep practicing! It takes more dedication and practice than 99% of the people out there are willing to put in (and maybe a bit of natural born skill, which all of us are not even capable of, but that's another discussion)! Check out my buck I shot this past January at 70 yards and made a near perfect shot, you can see the hole, no accident. I don't usually shoot over 70 yards because of all the other factors since its not a stationary target and hunting ethics is involved, although I know I easily can. Yes it is a bit of bragging, but it is possible. Yeah we liked Boat Anchor (bowtech) bows before they started building bows that have cams that are tweeked out of alignment at full draw..... .... Make sure that the modle that you are buying does not do that..... It scares the "soft serve" right out of me!!! We have had pretty good luck with bowtech at 50 yds and in...... they are tough to shoot down range. My $.02 worth. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
Coues Sniper Report post Posted March 16, 2007 The model I'm ordering (Guardian) is supposed to have zero cam lean issues. I did say supposed, because i have heard of some issues at longer draw lengths (i'm 29"). It's that new center pivot design, and from what i hear, they have had some great success downrange (over 50 yards) with it. Honestly, i probably would have gone with the SB XT except i don't like the owner from that shop. His 'after the sale attention' is an issue to say the least. Hey Kevin K, The only thing I can say about your last post would be to not choose your bow based on you local dealer.... .... You can order a bow from anywhere..... The BT bows are good, but if you like shoot long range or think that you might need to shoot long range, you should shoot there demo bow a bunch. If you can't shoot 1" groups at 20 yds with it.... you might want to see if you can shoot a 1" group at 20 yds with the XT..... Again just my $.02..... Good luck.
