Bandido243 Report post Posted October 8, 2014 I won't use them. Grouping is one thing. Meat damage is another. Dad told me about them but I used one on a deer. Did alot more meat damage than I wanted. I went back to core lokts with a quickness and gave away the rest of the silvertips.
Smith2260 Report post Posted October 8, 2014 We love these in my 7 mag. By far the best results for factory loads from my rifle. It has killed 8-10 WT from 200-550 yards. A few elk, last year was a late season bull at 599 yards. All of these animals dropped. Would definitely recommend them!
ThomC Report post Posted October 8, 2014 Just as good as reloads in my 06. They must be popular because Sportsmans are usually out this time of year.
KYLES96 Report post Posted October 11, 2014 Great bullet, I shoot em out of my 7mm Mag. 150 gr. 3100fps. 63 grains of IMR4350, really tight groups. I've always had an exit hole the size of a nickel. Haven't shot an a Elk with them though, I believe that's were people say there may be issues.
Bubbacoues Report post Posted October 11, 2014 I have only used 55grn ballistic silver tips out of my 22-250 and I've only have to shoot one time each deer. 2 of the 3 were past 300 yrds.
