Hoss50 Report post Posted September 29, 2014 I have contemplated buying some for my 257 Weatherby just to get the cases but can't bring myself to pay even that much for ammo or cases. You can find brass for 300 Weatherby much cheaper because other companies make it. If you don't reload then these are a great round for practice and normal hunting. There are more options from other manufacturers though for 300 that might be similar price for better projectiles. I couldn't honestly tell you. Both my 300 & 257 Weatherby's have never shot a factory round or even a piece of factory Weatherby brass. I have a bunch of factory Remington brass for the 300 and I make the 257 brass from Remington 7mm mag cases. If you don't reload owning a Weatherby is a great reason to start. $3-4 a shot for factory ammo is crazy expensive. You can load basically the same thing for $0.80-$1.50 a round typically depending on calibler and bullet selection.
