BuckNasty Report post Posted February 25, 2007 I took my first javi this year and I've decided to get it mounted. Can anyone recommend a good taxidermist in the Phoenix area, preferrably in the east side of town?
Coues 'n' Sheep Report post Posted February 26, 2007 Well I don't know any guys in the Valley, but I can tell you about the two guys that I use. They are Awesome at what they do! First you will notice that Mogollon Taxidermy is advertised on CW.com...... I have used Clay for many years now and he is at that top of his field.... and has a real nack for custom work. I will attach some pics of the Coues Deer and of the lion that he has done for me in the past couple of years. The lighting is not right because I had to us the flash.... but the work is Great on these mounts. Also, the Dbl pedistal mount is on Clay's web site for a better look at it. Coues 'n' Sheep Report post Posted February 26, 2007 The second taxidermist I use is Chris Harlow (Harlow's Wildlife Studio), in Tucson. Chris does the most amazing custom work that I have ever seen. He has done my sheep mounts, and I have seen some Awesome work in that shop! I will attach pics of my Sheep mounts as well. I would not be afraid to travel for your taxidermy needs...... you are going to look at that mount for a long time.

Coues 'n' Sheep Report post Posted February 26, 2007 Wow those are some great mounts. are those coues az and is your desert from here? mike Yeah, all from Az and all with a bow, except my wifes rifle buck ( the right one on the dbl pedistal) and my Dall was with a rifle in the Northwest Territories. Thanks. My hats off to my Taxidemists for the work they have done for me. Oops, the lion was a rifle kill as well.....
Jeepguy Report post Posted February 26, 2007 Try a guy named Jim Hartsock of Southwest Wildlife in Noth Scottsdale. (480) 661-0372. There are some pictures of his work in the Rifle Hunting forum entitled: Finally got my deer back. Great pictures!!! Me and my buddies shot a few whitetails and mulies in late 05, early 06 and they are due to be ready this week! He has some awesome stuff in his shop to take a look at!! His shop is up by West World!! Best of luck!!
GameHauler Report post Posted February 26, 2007 I also would say Clay Goldman of Mogollon Taxidermy would be a great choice. He did a GREAT job on my desert big horn. As Coues and Sheep said you can go to his web site which is linked on the home page Of CWT.com The big horn on his home page is mine It is hard to tell in the picture but the muscle tone and blood vesells bulging thru the skin are greatly detailed. Payson is not that far to go for quality Mike http://www.mogollontaxidermy.com/index.html I added the link for you
