Yah tell the game and fish so they can sell it at auction. That's a brainy idea... That exactly what you should do.

What the heck are you talking about? Sounded to me like he was just trying to help some one find a bull they couldn't find. I guess no good deed goes unpunished. And we all know if he called game and fish they wouldn't even try to return it to the guy who shot it they would scoop it up and auction it off so they can make some money

I am as baffled at your negative game and fish comments as you are of mine? The guy could be trying to help out another hunter, by reporting it and letting everyone know that had a 4b tag it has been turned in. Then the hunter may go through the legal hoops to retrieve his trophy. All I am trying to preach is DO THE RIGHT THING AND FOLLOW THE LAW. All of you who think you can manage the wildlife better need to apply for the job. This site is about hunter's helping educate other hunter's, sharing in our trophys and experiences, so why not educate on the proper way of doing things? My son reads these posts, I do not want him learning the wrong way to do things (like taking the law into your own hands).

Haha wanna know the last thing that I would ever do and actually it hasn't even crossed my mind? You guessed it. . Call the game and fish hahaha I'll light that damnelk on fire and burn the antlers before I called them. It's not my responsibility to call them or do I legally have to call them so suck it. I knew people had a problem with me but last thing I thought people would get mad about is me trying to help them find a bull. Get a life. Bull is still up for grabs if you can prove it's yours.

It is still archery elk season so the right thing to do is try to find the owner as BC777 is doing so someone can legally put their tag on it. Once the season ends the thing to do would be call G&F. With that said I agree with BC777 for once and the last thing I would do is call G&F....ever.

Sir out2hunt it is a felony for you and I to pick up a shot elk found dead. It increases if we try to sell or barter it...

Take a big guess what the game and fish does if they find something like that...

You guessed it they will SELL it. They are in charge to safe guard wildlife not whore it out. And they are selling our resources back to us for $$$ please exlplain to me how this is okay by any standards?

Light the elk on fire? You my friend are disturbed. Once again your childish mannerisms show themselves with remarks like suck it. You have also shown how you feel about one of our big game animals versus those positioned to protect them. I have never had respect for you BC777, and I have grown tired of trying to educate you. As well I have lost respect for each of you who think your above the law. Right is following the law, regardless if you do not believe in it.

300ultramag,

If you believe they are misappropriating wildlife funds, go to a board meeting and speak your mind. Ask to see the financials, they are public knowledge.

Rules are Rules, I do not try to teach my children which ones to follow based upon my personal beliefs. We create the gray area that people slink into and use as an excuse. Black and white and right from wrong, simple enough.

Just a question here for the sake of discussion...no sarcasm. Is it a "lawful requirement" to report it? By that I mean if you are walking in the woods, see a dead bull, leave it, and do not report it, have you broken any laws? I don't believe that's the case.

I do know there is a requirement to report before you can pick up a dead head, and if you take the head and have not reported it, at that point you are in violation.

Seems to me no laws are being broken? As long as it is tagged within the season and unit by the shooter, I have a hard time seeing where a law is being broken, but I may be wrong?
