azcouesandelk Report post Posted February 25, 2007 Well we were in unit 31 same as last year but it didn't go as planned. We left later friday morning and weren't able to start glassing til noon. Got up on the same perch as last year and started glassing. Continued glassing for about 2 1/2 hours and then it started to snow. Here is a pic of the area I was glassing. We then made our hike back to camp and watched all of the 25 feet we could see in front of us. We sat in the trailer planning for the next morning. So this morning we woke up and made the hike in. Glassed from sunup to 9 in the flats only turning up a jackrabbit. So I decided to turn and glass the juniper hills behind me. Glassed til 11:30 and turned up 27 deer 8 of them being bucks. Out of those 8 bucks 1 was a spike, 2 were forks, 1 small 3x3, 1 80 class 3x3 and 3 100+ bucks. I was only able to get a picture of 1 buck because the country was thick and they were rutting hard chasing does all over the place. This buck was busted off on his left side right before where his g2 was suppose to be, but on his right side he was a 6 point including eyeguards. I figured if he matched he would be around a 105 class buck if not bigger. But when I went back to my dad to move closer to the flats to glass again he hurt his back so we had to call it a day and a hunt. Here is the buck Here is a picture of the country where I found all the bucks and where they were.
