Now you've got me curious as to what you're gonna do with it? Sorry I don't have any and I'm totally hijacking your thread but I've gotten an itch to buy the new beretta auto 28 and this caught my eye!!

My son has the junior Pheasant hunt starting on Friday. My 12 & 20 are to heavy for him to carry, so were planning on using my Franchi semi auto 28. He's been doing pretty good with it on Dove this year. With 4-5 shot it should be perfect for Pheasant. I'm going to all the big box stores today to hopefully find what I need. If not I might be able to load it.

Check Sportsman's. They had a ton of 28ga. stuff there, all different size loads. It is 16ga. that is hard to find.

Hey, just thinking on it, I have a 20ga. Mossberg 500 that I have two barrels and two stocks for. Normal 28" barrel and an 18" barrel, and standard LOP stock and 11" LOP stock that I cut down for my girls when they turkey/dove/quail hunt.

You are more than welcome to use it with the short barrel/stock if you can't find 28ga. loads. I know 20ga. loads are everywhere. And I know it works, because I just used it last weekend and slayed the doves with it. My brother and cousin were using my 12 gauges, so I broke out old faithful. Takes all of 5 minutes to swap the shortened stuff back on.

Good to hear. #6's or 7 1/2's will kill pheasants all day long for ya. Especially in a sub guage guns. The key is to put a pellet in nerve tissue on a pheasant, a #6 pellet will penetrate a pheasants head at 70 yards, so there's no need to go bigger, the key is getting as many pellets flying at em as you can! Good luck on the hunt, my dad uses 5's for everything and swears by them, I shoot heavy 7 1/2's here in ND most of the fall and switch to high brass 6's in December when they really smart.
