mbiewer Report post Posted September 8, 2014 I wound up into the same problem. My buddy for a house warming gift gave me a 45# tank. The thing was awesome and massive (I get it filled about once a year and cook everything outside). I was full at the time, but it needed to be refilled. ANY propane tank is only good for 12 years past the manufactures date. It should be stamped into the valve shroud. If its expired, I took mine to Arizona propane. Alma school and McKellips (or at least thas where they used to be. google maps show the place has been raised and he building inst there anymore.) The number is 480 990 2245. They changed their location to just south of the river bottom. (call to see when they open up). I wanna say it was 15 bucks to get it inspected, and the valve replaced (part of the inspection). After that I is good for 5 years.
chico Report post Posted September 8, 2014 There is a propane place on Ironwood/Apache Trail in AJ. Northbound on Ironwood right before you get to the intersection on east side of road next to a 4 wheel drive shop. They will send your tanks off and get new style valves and come back full of propane. Decent pricing and fast service. Aero Propane Gas 480 982 8280.
