COOSEFAN Report post Posted February 17, 2007 I just received one.......kinda as a gift.........and it is still in the package. Have any of you guys used one? How accurate? How easy to use? Any tips? I know I will soon be finding all this out for myself, but just curious about it before hand. Thanks, JIM>
bobbyo Report post Posted February 17, 2007 The rackulator, I am sure you can roll that thing until you get the score you want. Bob
Coues 'n' Sheep Report post Posted February 17, 2007 My wife gave me one for X-mas..... COOSEFAN Report post Posted February 17, 2007 This one came with a DVD and makes it look fairly easy once you get the hang of it. I definitely would only use this thing for a fast rough score only......you probably could fudge it a little here and there by over-rolling, but you can fudge it a bit with a tape just the same! I bet you could get it really accurate if you take your time though! I will try it out later, JIM>
COOSEFAN Report post Posted February 17, 2007 Alright.....I couldn't wait. Get this.......I took my time, did it exactly as the destructions said......and I was off by 1/8" from what I taped my Mexico buck at! I figured it would be way off but it wasn't. With a 1/4" tape and a bunch of guys in Mexico watching to make sure I didn't "fudge" the lines, I came up with 109 3/8 and this gadget just came up with 109 4/8" for B+C Gross Typ. and 102 1/8" Net Typ. It also gives several other scores.......B+C Gross Non-Typ is 113 1/8" with a Net Non-Typ of 109 3/8". The SCI Non-Typ is 113 1/8" with a 109 4/8" for SCI Typ.! It's almost scary how cool this thing is......if it came up with a score way off from where it should have been, I was going to sell it.........I think I will hang on to it. shortpants Report post Posted February 17, 2007 How do you do the mass measurements? How much faster is it than using a tape?
COOSEFAN Report post Posted February 17, 2007 How do you do the mass measurements? How much faster is it than using a tape? For the Mass, you just pull out the hidden 1/4" tape measure.....wrap it around the smallest part.........click the set button and push the tape back in.....it reads how much tape was wrapped around the beam. I think you can accurately score a normal rack in half the amount of time, maybe faster, with this gadget! I think the neatest part is with the push of a button, you get any type of score classification you want, from SCI to Buckmasters! I don't know anything about Buckmasters, but it sucks..........my buck scores 99 4/8" under Buckmasters, why does it lose so much under that category?
