Recommended Posts

Hello everyone.....this coming weekend i got family from phx coming to greer to hang out and fish. My brother and sister and their families are gonna meet me there. They have never heard the elk during the rut and night. Im excited to show them something different. Anyways....how r the lakes in greer??? How is the stream in greer(i think its called lil colorado river)? Ive alwaYs camped at eastfork. Is it better to just head to big lake and east fork???? I just want the kids to catch some fish and have a good time. Thx u for ur time.

you can usually catch quite a few right there through greer. they are usually really small though. just drift small pieces of worm or salmon eggs with a very small single hook and no weight, under overhanging limbs, and where the water swirls

Fished the Greer Lakes over Labor day weekend. The fishing was terrible, we didn't get a bite. Neither did anyone fishing around us. Decided to let the kids catch crawdads. Lots of those! The bulls were bugling a bit, but quit shortly after sun up.

From G&F site.

LITTLE COLORADO RIVER in GREER – Fishing is fair for stocked Apache trout and wild brown trout. The stream will be stocked this week with 500 Apache trout. The stream has been running high due to monsoon storms.

SHEEPS CROSSING – Fishing is good for stocked Apache trout. The stream will be stocked this week with 500 Apache trout.

Do Hawley Lake. Cabin and boat rentals, too.
