mattys281 Report post Posted February 15, 2007 It wouldn't surprise me to hear about people having problems w/ the x-force or any other of these bows making claims above the 330 mark. I don't care how many rubber dampening thingy ma-jiggies you put on your bow, when you start shooting feather lite arrows to try and achieve those speeds the left over energy has to go some where and it's going right through the cams, limbs and riser. Sims may have found a way to quiet the shot, but you have to keep in mind that doesn't eliminate the energy. It still has to go through the bow to reach those little rubber products. When they say they "dampen vibration" all that means is that they've quickly elimated the oscilation of the parts. If you want your bow to have touchy accuracy, mechanical problems, and probably not last more than a couple seasons, shoot 5 grains per pound. Want it to last a while, shoot a moderate arrow. I've probably owned a dozen different PSE's over the last 14 years and have never had a problem with one of them. My 2 cents. That having been said, I still can't wait to shoot the demo. Kind of like test driving a Ferrari! I wouldn't spend my money on it, but that doesn't mean it aint fun to play with.

crazy4COUES Report post Posted February 16, 2007 Guys don't forget about Pretty Sh*tty Equipment...I see alot of you are hanging on to the Mathews bandwagon. I used to be, until I took the time to explore my options. I learned alot about different equipment, found what feels good for me. I think next year mathews is going to put a dampener inside another dampener and charge a 150 more dollars for it. HEHEHE.
bowhuntinmaniac Report post Posted February 16, 2007 You guys have it all wrong.......PSE stands for PiSsiE, and if you say it real fast, you have it down. I do have a question though, you spend all of that money on a Mathews and it is no faster than bows were shooting 10 years ago......why? It cant be because of the feel, is it? I enjoy not having to pull as much weight (bad shoulders) and I like a pretty heavy arrow (ACC 349)..... and yes, it truly is the feel..... I have never shot a smoother, more solid walled, or forgiving bow than the Mathews line (not all of them.... that new "Drenalin" bow SUCKS). I am very picky....now.... I just can NOT shoot a bow that has ANY hand shock..... it drives me nuts!! A lot of the guys I know don't care or notice, hand shock.... guess I am just sensitive... ....HaHa! I don't shoot a Mathews because I can't go buy something else or because of any money deals or savings...... only because I have shot a lot of bows and have never shot anything better. When I do.... I will change..... promise.
Huntn coues Report post Posted February 16, 2007 C/S---- Have you shot the new TRUTH?? Probably not--- cause if you did you would throw that crappy Mathews away.
Coues 'n' Sheep Report post Posted February 16, 2007 C/S---- Have you shot the new TRUTH?? Probably not--- cause if you did you would throw that crappy Mathews away. My son, Colton, and my huntin' Pard' Jason both took the "Switchback Challenge" this year...... they both bought the new Switchback XT.... OMG is that a Sweet bow! I used to whip both of them hands down when we would play "Chase the Knock" or "Tightest Group" on my back yard range..... Now they are my equals (or even beat me....rarely )... over Night!!! They were both shooting good bows before..... that is proof to me! And Troy...... you and I have been freinds for a Long time..... You have the potential to be an Excellent bow shot, I know this because you can pull pretty good groups with that old sucker you are shooting now. But, lets face it, you would not know good archery Equipment if it hit you between the eyes!!! ......."crappy Mathews"..... I say..... Stubborn Son of a Gun! TREESTANDMAN Report post Posted February 16, 2007 When I worked at Bear Mountain years ago we sent back more cracked limbs from PSE than any other bow. No joke. They may have very good customer service but I question their bow's quality. I also don't like their handles. Mathews Switchback XT is my pick.

As far as hand shock goes I personally don't notice it unless it is extreme. I too hate it when the bow buzz's the palm of your hand. Today I choose to shoot BOWTECH, they have a TRUE level knock travel, solid wall (cannot pull past the stops), smooth cams and the TRUE speed they advertise. As well as no hand shock. They don't even have any dampeners I shoot it at about 64 lbs. and get 307 fps. with easton acc 3-39. There are alot of GOOD bows out today, there is no longer just one good bow. By my buddy, Jason, shot a Bow Tech..... so did Colton. We joke and call them BowT-anchors! But they are good bows.... how ever the new modlel that one of my buddies now shoots is kinda spooky..... the cams "tweak" out of allignment at full draw...... and I think it has hand shock..... again i may be too picky......
