briant_az Report post Posted August 31, 2014 I just bought a new pair of swaro 12x50 El's and I just wanted to know if anyone has experience with the outdoorsman adapter. Looking to find out what the install of the stud cost and turn around time. I talked to them the other day and they said turn around is only a week, just wanted to see if that's a realistic time or not. Thanks in advance guys!

WampusCat Report post Posted September 3, 2014 Looks like you got the cost info so I'll just give my .02 worth of experience. I have the stud installed on my 12 ELs and really like how compact and out of the way it is. You will never notice it when not using it. My only complaint is since it is forward mounted on the binos the weight is not centered on my Jim White head (weight extremely biased toward the rear). Feels rather awkward panning around up, down, left, right. Maybe I am just used to my old 15s and outdoorsman pistol grip head. Maybe someone has an idea to counter that.
briant_az Report post Posted September 3, 2014 Thank you everyone for the replies to this! I would really like to have this done, now I just have to wait for the archery deer hunts to end.
coues7 Report post Posted September 3, 2014 I have personally watched these be installed. From what I understand, Outdoorsman worked with Swarovski to determine how to place the stud. They press out the old stud and press in the new stud. The shop looks like a surgery room. It is absolutely immaculate. I highly recommend the Outdoorsman stud to anyone with the 12x50EL's
