Havasuhunter Report post Posted August 29, 2014 We went out on the new moon looking for flatheads, but only ended up with a few nice channels. Biggest was just under 16lbs. Bait was live bluegill. Messed around with small stripers before the sun set and caught a few of those too. Caught a bunch of baby smallies while getting bait too. Looks like they had a good spawn this year. Next day we threw some big swimbaits for a few follows, no biters. The gold one is a Producer Plug 10" glide bait. My buddy Kenny in the cat pictures makes those. The trout is a custom bait my friend Craig makes in San Diego.

Havasuhunter Report post Posted August 30, 2014 Havasu has tons of big channels. Our biggest this year is 24lbs and that was on a 10" glide bait. I've caught several on the artificials this year. They are very athletic and aggressive there. Will even come up an attack a lure on the surface sometimes. Live bluegills are the best though. Cut bait usually catches the smaller fish.
