Pine Donkey Report post Posted August 27, 2014 There seems to be two schools of thought old powder: 1) it is fine as long as it has been kept sealed, 2) it looses some of its pop after a few years. What are the thoughts on this?

brent Report post Posted August 27, 2014 One persons experience: The imr4350 cans I had been working through that were from the early 70's had slightly higher ~100 fps velocities in a 7x57 than the new jug I bought with the same charge. The load I had with the old powder is also more accurate than anything ive made with the new stuff These were stored in a garage here in Phx. Other old powders I have used performed as expected, but I did not have anything to compare it to besides published data.
Hoss50 Report post Posted August 27, 2014 I shoot 20+ year old powder regularly that has been stored in garages the whole time with no problems.
