36A Batamote Ranch gate locked

Does anyone know why and how long the gate will be locked on the east side of Batamote Ranch in 36A ?

Yes.. Id like to know as well. That's a major E / W route along the N. side of the C.Colo.

It's been locked indefinitely by the ranch who owns the property. You can go around it by staying on the north split at Batamote Ranch, this turns into San Juan Ranch Rd. This road will turn west and parallel the Sierrita Mountains. Take the first left after the road turns west and that will lead you back to Batamote on the west side of the ranch.

 

You can also take Rancho Seco (MP 9 Arivaca Rd) north to Batamote and come from the west.

Can you park there and hike in to hunt?

Yeah you can hike in like said above their are roads around just another hour detour. So you will still see people driving in.

Rancher locked due to hunters leaving trash behind at campsites and leaving gates open. We are our own worst enemy.

We are. A lot of guys are pigs. Pick up Your cans and cover up Your TP. We blame it on Mexicans but We do it too.We do lose access cause of our sloppiness. Memo to Ranchers, if You see a slob campsite kick em out. Don't keep all of us out..We all need to do Our part............Thanks Guys.............BOB!

Pulled into a campsite for my elk hunt and had to clean up trash left by deer hunters I saw at this campsite.they left propane cans and other trash in fire pit and spent casing from target shooting.
