CouesWhitetail Report post Posted August 25, 2014 Hey All, My husband and I spent a few days down in Southern AZ and I took some pics of things we saw. It is so unbelievably nice out this time of year after this spectacular monsoon we are having! here are some pics for you to enjoy: We found velvetpod mimosa flowering all over the place. It's super beautiful and I had never seen it flower before so I was amazed! The summer rains are doing wonders for this plant! some survey workers were helping this snake across the road when we stopped to take pics and tell them what kind it was. It's a baby kingsnake....not harmful to humans, but they will eat rattlesnakes! very cool flower with long tube, only a specialized critter can pollinate this flower some very blonde coatimundis in some rocks

Pine Donkey Report post Posted August 25, 2014 Just got back from an archery hunting trip. It is so green this year, but that moisture has really helped the bug population also. I have bites and bumps all over my body.

Guest oneshot Report post Posted August 25, 2014 Very Nice photos Amanda, crazy green and the flowers are looking fine this year... Cool coatis... Yeah Pine Donkey, Those chiggers are beasts and they ate me up again this year, (I am that guy who stands next to you while your getting eaten alive, who only gets bit once or twice... If this is a weak case of bites I have, I couldnt imagine what a "normal" persons bites are like)

CouesWhitetail Report post Posted August 27, 2014 Those coatis were really blonde....seems to me I read something once about a the coatis in mexico being really pale colored, so maybe being near the border means most of the coatis are light colored down in the Atascosas/Pajaritos. Anyone else notice this?
