kazpilot25 Report post Posted August 21, 2014 Doing some last minute scouting on google earth I came across this. Does anyone know what they are? I would assume water tanks, but the black in the middle is throwing me off.

mc68 Report post Posted August 21, 2014 I'm pretty sure they are portable water tanks. I saw several of them between Payson and Heber.

Edge Report post Posted August 21, 2014 The top left and bottom ones even have a tractor and auger chute used to fill them, parked out in front of it. I had one in Surprise and used it as a tack room.

Edge Report post Posted August 21, 2014 Don't know for sure what it is, maybe it is a water tank but it's awfully big. I towed my silo to Surprise from Scottsdale. it was about 9' in dia. and 18' tall. Thought sure I was going to get a ticket. Looked like I was transporting the space shuttle. Silos are also used as sheds, pump houses, livestock shelters and even apartments.
yotebuster Report post Posted August 22, 2014 A cattle lease might have use for a silo full of...............silage. Good point. I didn't even think about that. They wouldn't be silos. Feeding silage to green cattle in a pasture like that would kill them. Not to mention the headache of hauling it up from the valley. I've seen trick tanks that had catchments above them with inverted cone roofs to catch rain water. That's my guess. Definitely not a silo.
