Amazing Dogs - Eider Retrieving

Recommended Posts

I can be soft when it comes to dogs but I can't be the only one who thinks these guys are taking it a little far? These dogs are absolutely amazing.

that's what a dog is for.

i get so tired of seeing these yorkies and and lapdogs that serve no purpose, and get treated better than people.

i mean, if i came over and peed on your carpet and pooped on your couch, how long would you let me stay?

Yea sorry but I don't think lapdogs and peeing on carpet apply here at all.

As incredible and willing as those dogs are, it's good way to get one injured or killed. That's not what a dog is for, even a hunting dog.

I've never owned a lap dog but even they serve a purpose.

Saw the video a few years ago. Amazing dogs. I would never send a dog into those conditions though.

Your not being soft at all. The dog has been bred to retrieve and please the owner. The owner has the responsibility not to send the dog into sketchy situations while it's doing those things.

ever so politely, i couldn't disagree more, lol

the lapdog application, is simply, these retrievers have purpose, and i love to see that in an animal. yorkies, on the other hand, pee on the carpet, and serve no real purpose, other than say companionship, which i guess is some sort of purpse to a degree. But to see a dog with heroic dedication like that warms my heart, and gives me courage. Last week i sat down with my kids and watched "Where the Red Fern Grows", the old one. I grew up in the city, but when i watched that movie as a kid, it changed my life, and i became a hunter.

hope you never go on a lion or bear hunt with hounds, it can get pretty brutal.

i have a dog, and while it doesn't hunt, it's singular purpose in life is to lay down it's life for my wife and kids, in the event of an intruder, so i have time to grab my shotgun.

but, to each their own.

Definitely to each his own, dogs tug on everyone's heart strings differently. And you're right about lion and bear dogs, on another level, one that I respect but it isn't for me.

I can leave it that if it were my multipurpose house and hunt dog, who does retrieve a couple hundred birds a year, he wouldn't be sent into rocks and undertow like that for a stinky eider!

Ive seen this video before. Pretty crazy! Some bad butt retrievers for sure. I cringe watching them try to get back on shore as they get smashed against the rocks

this is amazing but what you don't see is a dog getting smashed an a dog owner standing their going good dog if that dog gets hurt is he prepared to go in get him NO the hunter the owner is responsible for that dog. I would not send dog into that un less I myself was willing to go in their pull that dog out. so think about that you got a son or daughter at home wife I have run hounds pointers retrievers and yes I have a lap dog a pug name Harley. But lets be real if you not willing to go in their why would you risk your dog. you go home explain that to your kids when you don't bring the family pet home
