mc68 Report post Posted August 21, 2014 Great looking bull there, congratulations. Guessing no mount on that one huh? In the picture it looks like the cape was cut off. I am glad to hear the hunter was so excited about the tag, I know I would be! Forgive me for asking but will you take the velvet off the horns or try to preserve it? Anyways, Great job! High Point Outfitters Report post Posted August 22, 2014 You probably didn’t notice the cape that is rolled up in the white game bag under the bull’s head. What you are seeing is where the head was cut off leaving the bone/neck exposed. Here in Arizona it gets hot this time of year and it is best to leave the cape and neck open to the air. We had it to the taxidermist within a couple hours of being harvested. John is going to have a great shoulder mount to add to his trophy room.
High Point Outfitters Report post Posted August 22, 2014 The velvet was all dry so he will probably leave it just as it looks. He won’t have to do anything to preserve it.
