After getting the news (yesterday) that I'm deer hunting this year, finally got myself committed to getting my body ready for the hikes.

Luckily, I started monitoring what I was eating last week (prior to knowing I was hunting).

Last night after sunset, went out with my dog to the park and went up and down the hills for about 45 minutes. I'm feeling it now so I know I worked some muscles I haven't worked on for a while. Plan on doing this on a daily basis along with morning push-ups, sit-ups and stretching.

I have visited 3 different Bosa's and still not found any coconut cream donuts. I hate you.

Okay - I'm back and ready to start checking in again. Business got in the way for awhile - but the posts you made kept me motivated to get back as soon as my commitments were handled.

I had take a hiatus and get laser focused, work the long hours and get the new HEALY store opened up. CLICK HERE to see the Coues Whitetail Campfire post

I was still working out, but not with the intensity and regularity I had been. I'm ready to get after it again. My training buddies can finally stop busting my chops too.

See y'all right here tomorrow.

Well CW check-in crew - I made it back to the workout room - that was bittersweet

Might as well put it out there - here's the unvarnished truth:

Not horrible - not great. Lungs need some endurance (okay... lots of endurance). Strength was pretty good until you added large muscle cardio along with it - then my train derailed quickly. If only I could go back to my days of bench press "sets" - I'd be doing fine.

Weighed in 15lbs heavier than my last weigh in - might have been February. A blubbery 217.6 and a hefty BMI of 32 - yeah yeah yeah the big O (nothing like my 246 lbs of days past, but still gross).

I have work to do - I have the time to do it - I'm not starting from zero and I'm glad to be back at it - I will talk to you all in a week.

Past week, watched diet during weekdays. Performed some kind of daily exercise (stretches, push-ups, sit-ups, walking (10k/day goal)). Even walked around the house with my pack for 20 minutes. Wife thought I was nuts. Overall weight -6 lbs. This past weekend was full of eating (Sat-took the family to Amazing Jakes, all you can eat buffet...Sun-birthday party, lots of good Indian food). Will be back on track starting today on the diet.

Awsome job. I made a change too, after putting the backpack on after not using it since last hunt season I put 50 lbs in my backup pack and took the dogs on 3 miler. Adding this so I can be ready for this year better.I forget every year how tuff hauling a pack is

Congrats! I peaked at 221 myself a few years ago and was able to get down to 185. I felt so good at 185 and planned to keep going but we (wife and I) stopped keeping track and I found my way back up to 208. So I'm back on track and going back down the right direction. @202 this morning after a weekend of feasting. I work hard watching my intake during the week and let go a little in the weekends.

Good week. Ate right and had some hard workout sessions.

Down just over 3.5 lbs and my lung endurance is already improving. Any worry of needing 38" lardo pants is gone. Goal: Get back to the 34's ASAP

Backslide was minimal. Focused & headed in the right direction.
