elkaholic Report post Posted August 12, 2014 This is a 10" wet grinder made by the Prairie Tool Co. Inc. of Prairie Du Chien, Wi. It is used working condition . There are oil ports at the shaft bushings that need oiled, everything turns smoothly but it needs oiled before use. Using this grinder with a water bath keeps the steel cool and avoids drawing the temper from the edge. Properly used they shape edges quickly with little risk to the steel. They should not be stored with water in them to keep the wheel from going soft. It runs - minor stain on wheel if you are all all interested - please call 602-993-2657 asking $125 these were made in the early 70's very hard to come by - I really know nothing of the history of this grinder - what you see is what you get! You probably know more than I do . this set-up weighs over 60 lbs
muledeerarea33? Report post Posted August 12, 2014 These are very nice to have! Just don't mess with the pulley size as the tend to over spin causing the stone to explode from excess rpm shooting schrap rock in every direction and making grown men run like children! Oh, and it hurts pulling fragments from flesh.
