grey curse Report post Posted August 11, 2014 Never been one to read instructions Just put the batteries in and put in up. But after having this stealth camera for a year I noticed when upside down a red cover falls over the lens. The only thing I can think is it helps either with the sun or night pics. Wandering when to use this option and what r the disadvantages to using it. Thanks
CouesWhitetail Report post Posted August 11, 2014 Red lenses in trail cameras are generally to correct colors when using the infrared led lights for night shots. The lens automatically falls into place when it's needed and retracts when it's not. If you get red tinted daytime photos, then it's likely the red lens is stuck down.

JLW Report post Posted August 12, 2014 Thanks for the info. Even simpler then I though. yeah... learned the hard way... I sent mine back because I thought the lens was broke inside. the good ol us post office sent my package to Cali instead of Utah. when it finally got there they say..... nothing wrong with it... it will move into position when you power it up. I thought it was a line of bs but boy was I wrong... LOL! James
