PRDATR Report post Posted August 10, 2014 I have a pair of EL 8.5x42 I bought slightly used in Cabelas Bargain Cave in Glendale a bout maybe 8 years ago a few months after they first opened. I use them a lot and I can't find any scratches on the lens's but I am thinking it wouldn't hurt to send them in to be gone through. For those of you who have done this can you tell me how long it took and what they do. Has anyone asked if they would change out the glass for some with the newer coatings that are available and what the cost would be? Thanks in advance. HuntHarder Report post Posted August 10, 2014 PRDATR- I just did this with my 10x42 el's. Turn around time was close to 6 weeks and I was charged nothing. They come back in like new condition, with a new focus nob, couple of plugs on the hinges, and they even installed new nylon straps so I do not continue to wear on my magnesium body. I am pleased with their service. I did not ask about upgrading my lenses. They are spotless, and might even seem a little crisper, just because they are as clean as they were when they were new. CRAZYBUCK Report post Posted August 10, 2014 I just had bought a pair of slc 10x42 used in bad shape and then contacted swarovski and told them I would like a once over if that was possible she said send them in you pay to shoot they pay to ship back well couple days after they received my binos I got a email stating the they would be going threw an upgrade basically replaced everything free of charge except the lenses that cost 170 to replace all 4 but mine were in bad shape 2 weeks later I got them back and all I can say is wow the 2 page list of everything in the binos that was replaced was unreal and the new lenses do have that coating she made sure to tell me about that so for 170 I have a brand new pair of 10x42 slcs I was without them for 3 weeks but 2 of them was shipping awesome customer service

I had the same experience and same service done. They did my 10x42's and the 15's. They have also sent me a brand new post for the tripod mount after mine fell out for free. Very service oriented people and a pleasure to talk to, seems like they actually like their job and helping out their customers.
Bitter24 Report post Posted August 10, 2014 PRDATR, basically what the other guys already said Ive had awesome interactions with them. Unless they are literally destroyed they fix them up to basically new and 99% of the time for no charge unless it has to do with the lens themselves or ran over by a semi. something you probably want to do after the majority of states hunting seasons are done so you have them back to use for hunting and turn around time depends on time of year. Coues79 Report post Posted August 10, 2014 So, will they switch out old lenses for their new swarovision lenses..... Even if the model is not the most recent? It'd be interesting if they did.
