Sonof12 Report post Posted August 8, 2014 Cooked up the last batch of back straps from last years buck a few weeks ago...these ones were seared on very high heat and basted with butter and the sauce was a pan reduction finished with fresh blueberries. Outstanding for sure.

CouesWhitetail Report post Posted August 8, 2014 Always a sad day when you cook up the last of the backstraps, but I bet you enjoyed them! And now you have to go get more

muledeerarea33? Report post Posted August 9, 2014 Looks good! Blueberries? I've never tried that. I always save a pack of back strap to eat at camp the first night of the next years hunt, that is if I tagged out the year before. Back straps at camp this year though!! Chef Report post Posted August 9, 2014 Looks fantastic. Try sundries cranberries after a red wine reduction. Finish with a dalop of butter and fresh peppercorn. You'll be in heaven!
