muledeerarea33? Report post Posted August 3, 2014 Out and about yesterday I found several wild grape vines. About the size of a pea, in a cluster, and purple. Good taste except the seeds are most of it. Anyone ever do anything with them? I've been snacking on them all day and haven't died lol. I have pictures but can't post them
kidso Report post Posted August 4, 2014 You can make a jam from them or wait for the bears to come and eat them!
muledeerarea33? Report post Posted August 4, 2014 Prime bear country where I was at!! Seems like a lot of work to get enough flesh for a jam. I picked two grocery sacks full but feel like I'd need 10 times that for a few jars.

CouesWhitetail Report post Posted August 4, 2014 This does seem to be a great year for grapes! Many years are a complete bust. My husband makes wine, but not from wild grapes. We do enjoy eating them when we get the chance though.

Guest oneshot Report post Posted August 6, 2014 Those small 1gallon stove-top stills are quick and easy(eBay or make it yourself), gives a nice scent to the house too... So I have been told...
muledeerarea33? Report post Posted August 6, 2014 Those are nice for small batches oneshot but I prefer the 8 gallon reflux still. Hypotheticaly of course ;-)
