rossislider Report post Posted August 3, 2014 Hey CWT Community- Sorry for the long post, but as a few of you know, each September my wife and I lead a memorial toy drive to benefit the children of Phoenix Children’s Hospital. We began doing this a little over 6 years ago when we lost our little boy Easton to his battle with primitive neuroectodermal tumors (pnet, pronounced peanut). Our yearly memorial toy drive, occurring in conjunction with his birthday, is our way to celebrate his life and remember him. Our campaign initially began small with close friends and family participating. However, over the past few years it has grown to include many other groups and organizations in our community. For the past two years we have joined up with our friends Derrick and Rochelle, the owners of CrossFit Incite, to host a memorial fitness event in conjunction with the toy drive. We invite anyone in our community join us for our workout event and competition. For admission into the event we ask for the donation of a new unopened toy, which will be given to a cancer patient at PCH. This year, for the first time, we are officially endorsed by the PCH Foundation. This allows us to get sponsors and raise funds in addition to toys for the children. All funds will be used to purchase toys and gift cards for pharmacies, gas, and groceries for the children and their families. In addition to our regular event, we plan to add a number of other activities including raffles, silent auctions, product samples, etc. 100% of the proceeds will go directly to PCH’s children and their families. So far the response we have received has been tremendous. Many local restaurants and business have donated prizes for our effort and are/will be listed on our blog page. Among the donations list is a Diamond Infinite Edge Bow from Bowtech and a Wolverine release from Scott Archery. We plan to use these two items in a silent auction outdoorsman package. If any of you have the resources to donate items to this package, or any other items/services that we could use in a silent auction or raffle, please let me know. We are happy to provide you with the Phoenix Children’s Hospital Foundation’s approval letter along with their tax ID number to assist with your donation. If Amanda and CWT permits we will post our silent auction package(s) on here, in addition to several other places, in the weeks leading up to our event on September 20th for any interested to bid on. Lastly, we invite all to follow the event updates and announcements at http://eastonslegacy.blogspot.com/. We would love to see any of you from the CWT community come out a join us on September 20th. Please feel free to post any questions, comments, suggestions, etc. or shoot me a PM. Thanks Sean
