Jesse Ventura...

How did he win when he is clearly lost his marbles? What kind of judge did they find for this case?

Further proof being a politician rots your brain and removes common sense.

The case was not decided by a judge. It was decided by a jury.

Chris Kyle told lies about Jesse Ventura (and published them in his book). Ventura claimed that those lies impacted his income and personal life. Jury agreed and awarded him the judgement. I agree that it seems lame from our perspective that Ventura 'went after' Kyle's estate. Seems to me like he could have just looked to try to get an apology or retraction out of the situation, as opposed to the financial judgement.

For me, the bottom line is this; SUCKS that Chris Kyle told lies about Ventura in his book. SUCKS that Kyle's widow/children will be impacted due to the estate having to pay.

BTW, I agree with your comment on politicians!

Desertbull, that is a VERY intersting point regarding 9/11 orchestration! ;)

PS: ctafoya: It is OK to say something bad about anyone you want. It is not OK to publish lies that defame someone. ;)

ya , ya , ya ... I did read it and I do understand how civil court and a jury work. It was a post about peoples opinions not a civics course assignment. Actually most of the members on here do seem to be interested in facts for the most part.

Still more of the garbage everyone deals with due to how easy it is to sue someone and the ridiculous sum of money the lawyers make from these actions. I am sure insurance paid but I am also sure a great deal of money went to the legal teams on both sides. What a waste...

so did he lie? were there no witnesses at the bar? could someone provide a link perhaps

They both had witnesses.

The jury vote was 8-2

At least twice the jury informed the judge they could not make a unanimous decision and he made them continue.

It seems strange that if you were going to lie about it, you would pick Jesse Ventura to put into your book claiming you kicked his butt.

This is an interesting article:

http://www.newyorker.com/magazine/2013/06/03/in-the-crosshairs

Chris Kyle was certainly human. He saw a lot. He did a lot. He served our country and ultimately died trying to help a fellow vet. So, to me, he died in service to our country. But none of us humans are perfect. The whole deal is sad. All the way around.
