Darn right! I live in Las Vegas, but i say a bunch of us just go down there and take the dang horns back. I'm in. What that guy did is friggin' disgusting. He basically stole those horns. Keep us posted on this one.

It's sad to say but there is alot of hunters that are unethical out there. The amount of trash that we picked up and the ATV trails that were off roads in 23 this past December is proof. I'm now in support of banning all ATVs in the National Forests. What will the lazy bas---ds do when they have to actually hike to their glassing spots :(

Hey everybody. My friend did get ahold of the G & F and they told him that they would try to contact this guy and find out what the heck is going on. She is supposed to get back to him later this week when she finds out. She also said that it is very hard to prove someone else shot the deer when cases like this happen and unfortunately, the person who puts the tag on the deer is the legal holder until proven otherwise. It is a terrible shame that someone thinks that this is alright to do. May they never get drawn for another hunt again.

I am with Tyson and LittleBear. Doing the right thing was wrong. How could this miner find the buck unless it expired right in the pit. The only logical way is that by asking permission. The hunter told the thief where to find his trophy. "Can I look for the dying monster buck that went over your north fence."

"no" says minerman, as he goes out the door to buy a tag. I feel the guy should forget about G+F, the best they will do is confiscate the rack from the miner and keep it for themselves as evidence. ;) If I was in this situation I would start with The lowest level phelp dodge executive and work my way up to the CEO. Some of them might even be hunters and will certainly sympathise. PD is publicly traded and to them image is everything. If the theif is an employee they might be able to put pressure on the miner to return the buck.

Just my two cents,

Bob

When I shot my bull a couple years ago I had to leave it to go get my ice chests and other equipment. Before I left, I took several pictures of my bull with my tag on the horns. I also held my watch up in the picture next to the tag to show the time and date. I just thought I would cover myself in case somebody came along and tried to put there tag on it. Sorry about the deer, I would be out for some blood for sure. David

Even better... cut out the tongue and put it in your back pack then close the mouth up. You got field proof and you got DNA. Now if you come back and see someone on your elk just walk away and contact the G&F. Don't confront the person just show the G&F the tongue and tell them you shot it and tagged it. They'll go and talk it over with the one that's stolen your elk. I bet you'll get your elk ( or insert game animal here) back.
