capoeirajosh Report post Posted July 27, 2014 You can find a ton of info to get you started right off of the az game and fish website. Do a lot of reading on the subject, put your boots to the ground, and start looking for bears. Can't find them sitting on the couch, haha. If you find a food source, you should be able to find bears if you put in enough time. These are real tough critters to locate. Are you planning to use archery equipment or a rifle? Good luck and be sure to post pictures and a story if you get one down. We love those. : )

AZLance Report post Posted July 27, 2014 Look at the regs...there are several units opening and any of them would be a good choice.
DesertBull Report post Posted July 27, 2014 6A and 6B are good choices for northern units. Go on google earth and look for long, steep slopes covered in prickly pear, that are not close to main roads. Concentrate in the transition areas between Pines and desert. There will usually be a lot of juniper too.

capoeirajosh Report post Posted July 31, 2014 No bear archery or muzzleloader in 6a 6A is a general hunt. You can use rifle or bow if I am not mistaken.
capoeirajosh Report post Posted July 31, 2014 There isn't a specific archery only hunt there, but you are permitted to use a bow during the general season for bear.
