I'm not trying to be a smart a$$ but it sells at Walmart for around $22 plus tax. if you can find it. That is the point everyone was making. If, people weren't paying double and triple for it, the price would come down and then we all could find it.

You got screwed Stanley, and you're pouring gas on the fire, hence why people are selling ammo for $53 a brick! All you had to do is say you needed some, I'da GIVEN you some.

your money, do what you want...

I'm tired of this 22LR ammo crap. there is no reason for there to be a shortage. its just the rich getting richer in the corporate world

I understand what you're saying rugarmack...... Simple economics, I get it. The fact is though that currently the 'after market' market price is what it is (back to economics; supply/demand). You hit on the key point for me at Walmart, which is the IF part of 'if you can get it....'. Each time I go to Walmart I wander by the ammo counter to check and I have not happened to time it right to where they actually have any .22 ammo available. I'm getting tired of waiting until my kids want to go plinking to try to find ammo, only to run all over town for a couple of $8 boxes of 50 rounds. I thought it would be nice to have a couple of bricks on hand for next time, and the price/convenience was good for me. Simple as that.

Casey, I kind of get your point regarding guys like me being the ones that are helping drive the 'after market' price up by being willing to pay $50 but I still don't agree with your assessment of whether I got screwed or not. Simple fact is, I'm willing to pay the market (after market) price for the ammo and the convenience of having it delivered to me. Easy for me to afford, and now the kids and I can go plinking any time we want in the near future without running around to hunt for .22 ammo. Not sure why your comments regarding 'giving' me some is even applicable here. Seems like that would be more appropriate if I was begging for ammo as opposed to being willing to purchase it. If your offer is sincere though, I'd be happy to take any surplus you want to give me off your hands as well. ;) (Actually, if you have some bulk .22 ammo you want to get rid of I would be happy to pay the after market price to you too. You could help fund your elk hunt. That IS a sincere offer!)

Adicted, I agree the shortage and prices suck. Used to be able to pick-up all the .22 ammo you wanted for $8.99 per brick. Those good ol' days are clearly long gone.

Lots of Obama supporters on here. Comes down to supply and demand folks.

I can find 22lr for $25 if I just wait till it comes in. I have sold over 3000k rounds on here to CW members that have been looking for it in the last year for $25 a 500ct. I choose not to raise the price, but that is my choice. Some folks want the ammo to where they will pay higher prices because they can.

To the folks that whine about the prices being so high should do their homework to find where it can be bought at a normal price, but these folks wont, they'll just bi#@h about the price.

We will be back in 22lr within 6 months and possibly even cheaper do to the hording that has happened I believe the prices will fall below the $25 a brick to wher we will see $17 sales.

IMO

Why do people have to dump on some else's sales. Guns ammo or anything else they should be able to post without being hammered. If it's too high it wont sell, but no need to sling mud on them. Supply and demand, more power to him.

Well if you have been on the internet very long then you would know that when someone posts, their post is commented on by others. Since most of us hate scammers then pointing out a scam is a righteous use for responses. In this case Stanley is the one that just wouldn't let go. I think that he comes off as a snob with a lot of money and his mommy didn't teach him the value of money.

And besides that this is august, slinging mud is cooling fun.

You guys are hilarious! For the last time, NO ONE IS GETTING SCAMMED HERE! ;) The only reason I won't let it go is because folks insist that I'm getting scammed and/or screwed! There was an ad posted and I decided to purchase. Nothing more, nothing less. No snobbery, no flaunting money, no nothing. It simply bugged me that folks were slamming the seller (and then me, kind of) for doing this transaction.

Righteous intent or not, it did not come across that way. I obviously hate scammers too!

PS: If you think I'm a snob with a lot of money, then you have obviously not seen the 20 year old pick-up I drive or the place I call home. My children and my friends are what I value. NOT money. Classy move to bring my 'mommy' into it though.

I agree with the free market idea, I just usually see most guys on this website thinking about others when they sell things. Not too many "shady" deals on this site, which is a good thing. I have done several transactions with others on here, sending them money before receiving product, knowing that the description is correct and there are a lot of good guys on here.

Friends do not let friends spend $50+ on bricks of 22 lr tho...... To each his own...

Free market economy. Nothing to see here. Last I checked, someone's time is worth money. If Stanley prefers to spend his time at work or other things insteaf of chasing cheap ammo and part with the money, why are so many dumping on it? Then ripping him and calling him names because he defends how he chooses to spend his time & money? I realize the level of butthurt rises dramatically during the offseason, but this is hilarious. Just my 2¢ (but inflated due to people snapping up my opinions as soon as they hit the shelves)

Thankfully I have some 22lr at my house or I wouldn't even hesitate to spend $50 on a brick. I have 3 young kids and $50 is cheap keeping them out of TV,video games ,getting in trouble etc....if for some reason I didn't have any then I would spend more than that if i could find it...

The high prices are not causing the shortages its the same idiots that have to buy absolutely all they can when they have plenty at home. The cure will be high enough prices that people start walking away from ammo on shelves...then we will see ammo on shelves and then prices will drop...

A few months ago I trader, on CWT, a pound of H4350 for a brick of .22’s. Some of the PM's (after the deal was done) were brutal...calling me a fool, stupid, etc. bottom line is, I needed some .22's because my wife bought a new pistol, and the other guy got some powder he needed and I had no use for. I was happy, he was happy, really doesn't matter what others felt about the deal.

Personally I think I am getting the shaft when I pay 3.70 for diesel fuel, and wow beef prices! However, I do not have my own oil well and refinery, also haven't worked the ranching business for years, therefore when my demand meets their supply, I pony up the cash...it's better than being a hitch hiking vegan.

I understand supply and demand and have purchased products or services I needed when I needed them. But when is enough, enough? Not talking about .22 ammo only but everything in general. Prices keep creeping up and wages don't. This thread has been derailed since the beginning so I might as well push it off the tracks more.
