Anyone know when the dates for the #1802 5A/5B hunt (Hopi Leftover tags). I can't find it in the literature or website.

I thought you just paid the tag fee ($45) not the tag fee + the $13 application fee ($58) because it's just like buying them over the counter. If your tag's available, they cash your check and send it to you. If it's not, they just stick your opened envelope with your application and check in a bigger envelope and send it back to you. (Same if your application gets there on Friday.)

 

Looks like I'll need to bother the nice lady at 602.942.3000 again and clarify.

From my understanding it's tag fee plus app fee for all draw tags leftover or not. And all Non permit tags or OTC tags are just the tag fee no app! I could be wrong but this is always how I understood it

You are right! I was wrong. Thank you. I just looked at the 2nd page of the left-over list and it clearly says "Permit Fees required: Resident Deer $58.00"

Used to not have to have the app fee on left over tags but you do now. Easy way to make extra $13. My boys tag will cost $71 now with the bonus point of not drawing! Not the end of the world but $71 for a deer tag, crap!

Unit 35b has late December tags still available I have never hunted that unit is it that bad that know one even wants to hunt the late hunt there or is it worth a try can any one advise thanks

Not that I see listed...that would be a huge surprise. 35B is a pretty good whitetail unit like the other border units.

I sure hope not..... I have quite a few friends that had that 1st choice and were not drawn...... there should be late nov early dec tags left

Ya I just checked and hunt #1136 is Dec 35b none of those left only 1133 1134 and 1135

And how do you know when you draw a leftover? Does it go on the g&f website or do they call you?

You can call them prob on Tuesday or you will just get the tag in the mail

When was that? I have lived here for 10 years and have been doing leftover tags since my first year here, and in that time we have always had to include the application fee.
